INSIPRED BY THE LOCAL TRANSPORTS OF BOMBAY, DELHI, CHENNAI AND KERALA
POSTERS SEEN :
BOMBAY TAXI
CHENNAI AUTO
KERALA FERRY
DELHI METRO
Inspired by A. M Cassandre, and his style, I attempted to reimagine it in a modern world, using India’s famous diverse local transports, fit for promoting Indian culture during the 2023 G20 Summit. This poster series was a long process of iterating, ideating and consulting to get an authentic representation of the culture of these states.

Studying A M Cassandre’s work, one thing I noticed consistently with regards to the shapes is how most of his works are constructed only with circles and rectangles, giving his compositions a very unique flavour.
I was very inspired by this aspect and tried to incorporate this within my works as well.
Breakdown of A M Cassandre’s style:
I can’t talk about his work without mentioning his usage of beautiful and clean gradients. Achieved using purely airbrushes, gradients mark an important part of A M Cassandre’s style. Trying to put a lot of importance on that aspect, I tried to get the poster as realistic to the real life inspirations but also A M Cassandre’s work as he had a distinct way of applying gradients.
I also had a lot of fun getting the typography to his exact style, with the overlapping text and colours.
Through my photos you can see the ideations + thought process behind each of the main posters.

I focused on simplifying shapes, breaking them down to the simplest of squares, circles and deciding a good suitable scenery.
Same with the colours. I kept them muted, like with the yellows, in the taxi and the autos, bright enough to accentuate their silhouettes.
